The bag is complete and is my absolute favourite thing I have knitted so far. I'm so pleased with how it looks a lot like the picture on the pattern. I need to practice my sewing up though as it is a little wonky but because it's not a very structured bag you can't really tell once it has stuff in it.
Wool used : Artesano Alpaca Aran in Twilight, used 1 skein for the body of the bag and a few more yards from a second skein for the handles.
Alterations: i cast on 60 stitches instead of 80 because the needles I used for handles were 10" long rather than the 14" called for and I didn't want the stitches bunched up too much. i also knit the handles in seed stitch rather than garter stitch as that seemed to be the done thing on Ravelry and I hadn't done anything in seed stitch before and wanted to see what it looked like.
This was a really nice quick and easy knit, I am very tempted to make some more in different colours and sizes.

I <3 your bag too!! I think it came out great! It really makes me want to run home and work on mine!
I really want to line mine but my sewing skills are not very good :(
Did you sew in the lining before you pieced it together?? I'm thinking of making a totally separate cotton or canvas 'bag' that can pop in as the liner and just have buttoned loops that will go around the dowels. That way I don't have to worry about screwing up my pretty knitting if I sew it wrong and I can take out the liner to pop in the wash from time to time.
Wow your bag is great! I love the texture! I have so many bags that knitting one would be pointless but now I really wanna do a bag... grr, and to think I thought knitting would help me save money lol! Adele xxx
Heya lovey I went to I Knit London yesterday and I know what you mean... I think it's the group of none smiling women taking up all the space! The guy was nice. What are you up to at the moment? xxx
